Play Therapy and Counseling
Parents seek counseling for their children for a variety of reasons. Some of these may be to address fears, anxiety, bullying, adjustment to a life change, behavior problems, or relationship difficulties.
Counseling services are provided for children of all ages at The Kid Connection. The therapeutic approach (play or activity therapy) will vary depending upon the child’s age.

We work closely with parents to help them understand their child’s behavior and how to help their child flourish at home and at school.
By choosing counseling, you are equipping your child with the tools and strategies necessary to reach their full potential. -
Social Skills Classes
Peer relationships and the ability to relate to others are critical for the emotional development of all children.
The Kid Connection developed this course with the goal of helping your child to increase social interaction, social awareness, and self confidence through games and guided therapeutic instruction. Social skills classes are one hour sessions that meet once a week, and are conducted on an eight-week cycle. Classes are assigned to match the age of your child and appropriate peers.The following are some examples of the social skills targeted for intervention:
Making eye contact
Initiating interactions such as play, conversation, etc.
Taking turns
Understanding other people’s body language such as facial expressions
Understanding emotions and expressing emotions
Friendship building
